openDAQ Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device module

Brings Bluetooth Low Energy sensors into openDAQ on Linux, Windows, macOS and Android. Heart-rate straps, cycling power meters, speed and cadence sensors, smart trainers and thermometers appear in normal device discovery and stream timestamped signals. Every GATT characteristic is also readable and writable as an openDAQ property.

openDAQ Graph GUI

A graphical tool that draws a running openDAQ instance as the dataflow it is. It shows channels, the signals they produce, function blocks reading them through input ports and the servers publishing the result.

GatewayEtherCAT

Arduino openDAQ gateway and EtherCAT bridge

An Arduino-class board acting as a gateway that presents non-openDAQ hardware and an EtherCAT segment as an ordinary compatible device. It is a practical answer to equipment that predates all of this.

opendaq-fs: an openDAQ device as a file system

An openDAQ device mounted as a file system over NFS on localhost. Every component becomes a directory and every property becomes a one-line file. A signal directory holds a data file that the device's samples are appended to as they arrive.

DAQCube: multiplayer game sessions over openDAQ

A server device hosts a libretro game core and exposes four player channels. Each channel takes a keyboard state signal in and carries the encoded video and PCM audio signals out. A client module replays the stream in a window and plays the audio on the local speakers. Built at an openDAQ DAQ Jam.

ExperimentPython

Flappy Duck: a playable Python module

A Python function block that opens a real window and runs a flappy-bird style game. Each keypress is published as a Float64 signal through a nested keyboard function block and the game reads it back like any other input. Written as an example for the Python module bindings.

DuckBreaker: games controlled by a scalar signal

An openDAQ module containing two games, a brick breaker and pong, in which the paddle is driven by a scalar signal. Connect any channel to the input port and the measurement moves the paddle. It is a memorable way to show that a signal is a signal whatever produces it.

Built something? We will publish it

Integrations, experiments, educational projects, open-source tools and company applications are all welcome and contributors are credited by name. It does not have to be finished, polished or important. The Arduino gateway on this page is a demonstration rather than a product.

Where to go next

Open-source contributions become publicly accessible. This is one of the five openDAQ community principles and it is worth knowing before you send anything. Company applications are featured with the owner’s approval and remain the owner’s property.
