How does an engagement with openDAQ run?

Free discovery call

You describe the device, application or system. We state whether openDAQ fits and what the smallest useful first step is.

Written offer

A fixed scope, a fixed price and a statement of what you will hold at the end. No engagement starts without one.

Delivery alongside your team

We work with your engineers rather than around them so that the capability stays in your organisation when we leave.

Where we stop. openDAQ is not a turnkey integration house. We build the modules, tooling and expertise that make your team faster. We do not take over ownership of your product.

Service bundles

Several services can be combined into one offer

When one piece of work leads to the next we can combine several services into one bundle with one scope and one price. A bundle is put together for your case and quoted as a single offer. It is a purchase and not a membership.

What are you actually buying?

How are services priced?
Software support and training are charged at the rates of your membership level, which are listed on the membership page. Larger pieces of work such as a proof of concept or a custom module are scoped against your product and quoted in a written offer before work starts. The discovery call is free.
How long does a first implementation take?
That is what the proof of concept is for. A basic prototype with enough device structure for discovery and streaming can usually be built in a few days and it is what makes a real estimate of the full implementation possible.
Will you build the whole thing for us?
We will build a module for you and hand over source you own with tests and documentation. What we will not do is become the long-term owner of your product's compatibility layer without an agreement that says so. That is what a service bundle is for.
Who owns what you write for us?
You do. Custom module development is delivered as source you own outright. Contributions we make back to the openDAQ SDK itself are Apache 2.0 like the rest of it and we agree in advance what falls into which category.
What is a service bundle?
Several services scoped and quoted as one offer. It ends when the work is delivered.
Do you work on site?
Training and workshops are offered on site and online. Both are available by individual agreement.
