openDAQ has received the Gold Innovation Award from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS) for the openDAQ SDK—our open-source platform for modern data acquisition.
The award was presented at the 2026 Innovation Day at Brdo pri Kranju, where openDAQ was recognized among some of Slovenia’s strongest innovations.
And, for a technology whose ideal end state is that users barely notice it exists, being noticed feels pretty good.
In very good company
Receiving the Gold Award is particularly meaningful given the strength of this year’s winners.
openDAQ was recognized alongside innovations from the following companies: Novartis, Pipistrel, Elan, Krka, Domel, Sandoz and LynxCraft.
That is rather good company for a piece of software infrastructure that spends most of its working life behind the scenes.

An award for openness—and cooperation
openDAQ was founded on the belief that interoperability is a challenge the measurement industry can solve better together.
We would therefore like to thank the entire openDAQ team for the work behind this achievement, Dewesoft and HBK for their continued support, and Gospodarska zbornica Slovenije for recognizing the value of open source and interoperability.
Perhaps the nicest thing about the award is that it also tells us something else: we may finally be getting better at explaining what openDAQ actually does.
That is no small achievement either.
The Gold Award is an important milestone, but the goal remains the same: a test and measurement industry where devices and software from different manufacturers can work together more naturally—and engineers can spend less time integrating and more time engineering.
